Why Bamboo?

Why Bamboo?

Bamboo is one of the most incredible plants on the planet. Its ability to grow and mature
quickly make it an ideal sustainable resource. And, thanks to its natural beauty, it’s a
great option to use in a wide variety of projects, including art, furniture, clothing and
even homes.

In fact, according to UNESCO, more than one billion people on the planet today live in
houses made from bamboo. An efficient building material, bamboo can create over
1000 homes with just seventy hectares of land. To build that many houses with timber, it
would dramatically contribute to the major global issue of deforestation.

With over 1,000 different species of bamboo on the planet, it can be grown around the
world and without the use of any harmful chemicals or pesticides. Planting bamboo is
also beneficial for the planet, as a grove of bamboo produces 35% more oxygen than
typical trees. And, if that wasn’t enough, bamboo is incredibly efficient at absorbing
carbon dioxide, helping to clean the air around us.

When bamboo is planted, it also helps to improve the quality of the soil, acting as an
effective inhibitor for soil erosion. And, when it’s harvested, very little of the plant is
wasted, which is a far cry from what happens when a tree is cut down for its materials.

By purchasing products made from bamboo, you are helping to support a sustainable
practice that is beneficial for the well being of our planet. And, when it looks this good,
it’s beneficial for the well being of your home, too!
